I thought the article Backward Southerners, Frigid Northerners: Germany’s Real Divide was very interesting because it definitely made me think of America. I knew Germany had slight differences in dialect and even culture, but I never thought it was that different. I think American southerners have that stereotype as well...
I also thought it was interesting that "East Germans" have nostalgia for life in the DDR. Both Breaking Down the Wall in the Head and Ostalgie talked about this East/West division. In the Ostalgie article I thought it was funny that you can buy souvenirs from the former DDR. I can buy souvenirs from the American good old days at a shop at most malls. Those stores are for people with nostalgia or interest in the 1940s-70s and even later. And about the fact that 57% of "Easterners" felt more free in the DDR was pretty startling because I definitely never thought of it like that, I just think "communist". But what an interviewer said made sense. There is more poverty in "East" Germany now and many people do not have as good jobs or even opportunities than before. Like he said, people are unable to travel (due to money) like in the past.

AMD 6
Diese Zeit habe ich einen Dumm Film
gesehen. Es war "What a Man" mit Matthias Schweihöfer, der Man von
der "Schlussmacher" Film. "What a Man" ist der schlechteste
Film, den ich gesehen habe! Es war sehr Dumm und nicht interessant. Die
Hauptfigur ist ein Dummkopf. Er ist eine traurige Ausrede (excuse) für einen
Mann. Erste hat er Freundin ihn betrogen (First his girlfriend cheated on him).
Dann hat er beste Freundin sie betrogen (Then he cheated on his best
girlfriend). Endlich hat die beste Freundin vergeben (forgave) ihn. Dass sehr nicht
intelligent ist. Nita, die Freundin, war auch Dumm. Matthias Schweihöfer
schreibt diesen Film und es ist beschissen! Er macht mir Krank!

Guten Tag!
Ich lese "Dinner For Who?" and thought that it was sehr seltsam. I thought it was strange that this weird little British skit is so popular in Deutschland. It reminds me of when mein Vater watches the Charlie Brown shows every holiday. So I guess its not that weird...Ich muss zu Deutschland um New Years Eve reisen, so kann ich "Dinner for One" mit Deutscher Leuten sehen.
Dann lese ich "Sorry We're Closed." Ich denke, dass diese ist dumm. Stores should be open 24/7 in my opinion! More jobs and you don't have to worry about running low on groceries. Ich mag Meijer. Es ist immer open.
Ich lese auch "Booze Brothers" und denke ich es ist scary. I would not want to wonder around on that day. I would stay home. It also made me wonder was Deutschen do to celebrate Mother's Day? Do they call it Frauentag? Das klingt mir gut.

AMD 5
Ein wunderschöner guten Tag,
Heute habe ich das Film "Schlussmacher" gesehen. Es ist ein lustige Film uuber zwei Männer und ihre Problems. Paul arbeitet für ein "Beziehung Büro" (An Organization that breaks up relationships :), und er trenne sich Leutes "Relationschaft" fuur denen. Er trenne sich Totos Relationschaft von seine Freundin. Das war nicht gut. Toto war Heartbroken. Paul war mit Toto "stuck" (Thorsten was lonely and they travelled together because Paul lost his Fürherschein) Toto und Paul werden gute Freunden.
"Ich liege hier, weil ich sterben will" = I lay here because I want to die.
Du sollst diese Film sehen. Es ist in Netflix.

AMD 4
Guten Tag,
Fuur diese AMD habe ich "Die Deutschen" gesehen. Es war ein bisschen langweilig. Diese Teil war uuber "Heinrich und der Papst (Pope)." Heinrich was called "King of the Germans" or "Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire." Ich finde, dass Heinrich König um 6 Jahre alt bekommt, interessant.
Das Film war sehr lange und der Erzaahler zu schnell gesprochen. Es braucht "Subtitles."
Ich lerne, dass Heinrich um 1050 C.E. geboren hat. Dann bekommt er König, und sein Mutter Agnes war "Regent." Bald war er "kidnapped by the archbishop of Kooln, who supported the Pope over the antipope that Heinichs Mutter supported." Der jung König war bei Schiff nehmen.
Viele Jahre später hat Heinrich ein Krieg gewinnen. Und bevor dass, er zu Italien über die Alps reist.

AMD 3
Guten Tag!
Für diese AMD habe ich online Museum gesehen. Ich habe um das Pergamon und Neues Museum gelesen. Beide des Museums sind in Berlin. Das Pergamonmuseum hat viel altes Dinge. Meine Lieblingsaussetellung ist Vorderasiatisches Museum im Pergamonmuseum. Das ist sehr interessant! Das ist sehr interessant! In diesem Museum kann man durch das Ischtar-tor von Nebukadnezar II laufen. Es ist sehr große. Es ist eine Rekonstruktion, aber immer noch toll! Das Pergamonmuseum hat viele mehr Objekts von alt Mesopotamien, Syrien, der Türkei, und mehr.
Neues Museum hat auch viele interessante Dinge! Ich mag Ägyptisches Museum und Papyrussammlung die Beste! Ägypten gefällt mir
gut, weil ich altes Ägypten studiere. Das Museum hat ein berühmt ding. Die Büste auf Nofretete, die Königin
von Ägypten in das 18th Dynastie.

Hallo alle!
Diese Kultur-texte war sehr interessant. In Draftophobia: Blown Away by the Fear of Air Deutschen Leute glauben dass "es zieht" krank werden sein. Manchmal mag ich es zieht, manchmal nichts. Aber wenn ich im Auto fahren, muss ich zieht haben. Mein Bruders Auto hat keine Luft! Dass ist sehr schrecklich! Keine Luft werde ich krank...
Die Artikel You Have What? Mysterious Illness in Germany war sehr lustig. Meine Deutscherin Freudin ist immer krank! Aber diese "Krankheit" ist kaum Krankheit. Deutschen legen sich sollen hin. Gute Besserung!
Und endlich, mag ich die Sauna! Das klingt sehr nett! Meine Tante hat eine Sauna, aber nie sie verwenden (she never uses it). Wenn gehe ich zu Berlin, muss ich die Sauna probieren.
Im Sommer klingt Berlin gut. Ich freue mich auf die Deutschland reisen. Ich will zu Ritterfest gehen, aber denke ich im Herbst ist...Ich bin eine große Museum Zuschauerin, so das Guggenheim werde ich gehen.

Heute habe ich "Die Deutschen: Otto und das Reich" gesehen. Es war sehr informativ. Ich denke, dass Deutschen geschichte sehr wichtig ist. I got this idea by reading another blog so I thought this would be perfect! Ich mag Geschichte!
In das Film, Otto wird könige. Sein Vater ist gestorben. Otto wird koonige von Frankreich. Im
Jahre 843 CE Westfranken, Mittelreich, und Ostfranken ist alle Frankreich. Ostfrenken ist Sachsen, Franken, Schwaben, und Baiern.
Otto began to build an army in order to strengthen the different German groups into a nation. Dann sein erstegeboren Sohn war sehr böse. Er rebelled! Aber Otto forgave ihn. Im Jahre 955 der Magyaren attacked. Otto und sein Army hat gewonnen.
Und er bekommt Emporer of the Holy Roman Emire. Dann er Sohn (Otto II) mit Theophanu geheiratet, to strengthen the kingdom (Theophanu was die Tochter of the Byzantine Emperor).

Guten Morgen!
Heute habe ich Vorsprung gelesen! Es war sehr interessant. Ich will zu Stuttgart gereist.
I read the article: What Discipline? Of German Lines and Pythons. It was about how the author thought that Germans aren't a group of people who are good at making lines, and that older people have a tendency to cut. I thought that was pretty funny because it made me think of mein Vater because he ist sehr impatient. I thought it was interesting that the Deutsch Wort for "line" (Schlange) means the same thing as "Snake." And when snakes move, their bodies are kind of all over the place...
Dann lese ich durch USA kulinarisch. Ich lese über Produkttest: “Süßer-Zauber”-Cupcakes. Ich mag Cupcakes! Sie "gefrosteten Cupcakes zu probieren." Das ist sehr Amerikanische.
Ich lese auch über die Stadt Stuttgart. Ich mag Stuttgart, weil meine Groß-Großeltern aus Stuttgart kommen. Meine anderen Großeltern haben Stuttgart gereist. Stuttgart is a beautiful city and it's definitely a place I would like to visit. I also like the sports, Fußball und Tennis!
In 365 Dinge mag ich "Shoppen im Bambus Dreams." Ich will Dinge von Nepal und Indien kaufen!

AMD 1
Guten Tag!
Ich habe Bella Martha gesehen. In das Film ist Marthas Schwestern gestoren. Dann hat Martha mit Lina (ihre Schwesters Tochter) gewohnt. Das Film gefällt mir, aber es ist sehr Traurig.
I really liked this movie, but it was really sad. I felt bad that Martha's sister died and also felt sad for Lina! It was a horrible situation for both of them! Der neu Koch in der Küche war sehr nett und Italienisch! Martha und ihre Schwester mögen Italienische Männer!
I liked that he was so nice to Lina and even got her to eat. At the end of the movie they were a cute little family!
During das Film, Ich habe wörter geschreibt. Or I wrote notes about stuff I liked, wanted to remember or vocab from Chapter 7.
Kannst du mir einen Gefallen tun? = Can you do me a favor?
Schade = Too bad
?? = Bite the dust (I couldn't make out what they were saying but I would like to know how to say it!)
Vocab = Zufrieden = satisfied, glauben (Glaube) = to have faith...
One part I have an issue with is that "no thanks" is not the same as "Nein danke, ich möchte nicht." At that point in the movie Martha was sitting at the table not eating and basically refused to eat Mario's food. The English translation made her answer sound nicer...
Lastly, I really liked "Martha! Mein Baby kommt!" Because it sounds funny... und Ich denke, dass "Schade" mein Lieblingswort ist.
