AMD 2 by JOsh Crane
Für AMD 2, ich habe
gelesen Gedichte in Deutsch. (For AMD 2, I read poems in German). Der ersten (the first) was a small work
about a dying man. It was very much like thoughtful poems in English. It talked
about how he was going home to some gods.
The second poem was about a journey, presumably through ein Traume (a dream). The character
finds himself moving past a guard, and foreign terrain, until he comes to a
type of arch. There was eventually a “change in stars,” and his general
surroundings. The character is then forced to repent from some past deeds.
What I noticed about these works and more was that while the
German language is said to be choppy and not so romantic, I found that many
poems do rhyme, and sound good. The German language can be used to work with
sounds. I have heard that the German language couldn’t match the romance languages
in making poetry, but that appears to not be true.
