Ich fand diese Kultur sehr interessant. I admire the fact that Germans look back on the history of their country and see how things happened. Es ist sehr lustig that east and west Germans have funny opinions on each other. It is great that the younger Germans have the ability to turn things around by taking the initiative. Ostalgie ist auch sehr interessant. The word nostalgia has a positive meaning so it is great that Germans have derived a word with a positive meaning. Ich hasse that the northerners and southerners quarrel. But in order for things to get better, arguements, and disputes must happen first.

Michael Weathers AMD 6

Für diese AMD, sah ich ein Deutsch Film. Es heißt 'The Berlin Affair'. The movie was about shwul individuals that were afraid to tell everyone how they really felt inside. The German spoken in the film was ein bisschen hard, aber ich verstand es. The film had funny parts to me, that most people would not find funny. The movie somewhat reminded me of R. Kelly’s trapped in the closet, which is like a soap opera. This movie was a good way for me to see the  older way of German hollywood. The film was made in 1985, so it was made a while ago. German movies are very interesting and I am definitely going to see more.

Diese Kultur ist sehr interessant. The articles again show me how I am the complete opposite of the citizens of Germany. I like the fact that HerrenTag ist celebrated with much fun and bonding. Although they might have too much fun manchmal, es ist besser wenn Leute nicht schlecht tun. Tag der Vaters ist a day of celebration, happiness, and having a good time. Some people do not get to see their fathers, so every moment ist sehr precious, even the drunk ones. Germany’s New Years procedure is very funny to me. It is great that there is a tradition they follow. I am not the biggest fan of the closing on time thing, but rules must be followed right? Es ist ok, aber dass ist sehr crazy to closed the door in someone’s face.

Michael Weathers AMD 5

Für diese AMD, hatte ich Deutsch videos gesehen. German music videos are very similar to American videos. Sie haben sehr cliche titles. For example, titles like Where I Want to Be, oder Where is Heaven Calling, oder selbst Because I’m Home. The music videos were very interesting and different. Different in a way that is prima. Ich mad das Video ’Jetzt ist Sommer.’ It was a video of really old men singing about how they loved summer. Ich finde das lustig. It was also cool how I could understand what was being said. Although this was a very slight understanding, I knew what was going on. I am pretty sure it is because I am new to the language, but the songs seemed as if they were playing two times as fast. That was very cool to me. Diese Aktivität war sehr spaß.

AMD 4 Michael Weathers

Für diese AMD, habe ich Youtube videos gesehen. I watched videos of celebrities speaking deutsch. Kirsten Dunst,die in Spiderman spielt, spricht ein bisschen Deutsch. Mila Kunis, die in That 70’s Show und Family Guy spielt, spricht gut Deutsch. Schließlich Sandra Bullock, die in die berümpt Filme Miss Congeniality und Crash spielt, spricht wunderbar Deutsch! The reason I say Sandra Bullock speaks wonderfully is because I could barely understand what she was saying. I could make out what the other two women were saying because they were saying fairly simple things. Sandra however, was at an awards show and had much to say besides thank you. After watching the video so many times I eventually turned on the subtitles. This was interesting for me because it was cool to see some celebrities that I like speaking one of my favorite languages.

Kultur Kapitel 9 Michael Weathers

Ich finde es crazy dass da sind so many rules. Ich kann nicht handle the nagging und complaining. Ich habe gern spaß und laut sein. Meine Familie mag Partys und sie haben viele. Meine Nachbar wäre nicht mein Freund. Germans sind so strict und tight. Es ist besser wenn Mann lockern ist. As for the organization regarding job applications and such, I think that its great that Germans are so organized. Ich möchte mehr Ordnung zu haben. Es ist sehr schwer für mich wenn ich habe ein Vorstellungsgespräch. Von 'Brennpunkt Kultur', jetzt möchte ich nach Wien fliegen. Austria auch sieht sehr nett aus, aber ich möchte nicht da besuchen. 

Achterbahnen

Für dies AMD, habe ich ein Amusement Park gelernt. Es ist Europa Park heißen. Es ist in Rust, Deutschland. Ich möchte da besuchen, weil ich Achterbahnen liebe. Mein Lieblingsachterbahn auf Europa Park ist Silver Star. Es ist zweihundertvierzig Fuß groß, und über fünftausend Fuß lange. Und es geht 80 mph. Es hat Schwarz und weiß track, und weiß supports. Es ist auch Deutschland großte Achtebahn. Deutschland hat auch Heide Park.Es ist in Soltau, Deutschland. Dies Amusement hat Deutschland erste Winged Coaster. Es heißt Dämonen. Es ist weiß, und es hat schwarze supports. Dies ist nicht sehr schnell, nür 62 mph Riders sit on the outside of the track instead on top. Ich würde sehr heiter sein, ob ich diese fahren kann.

Kultur 8

This was sehr interessant. Germans, I will admit have very weird pet peeves, but I actually think we all do. I am pretty sicher that there are many Americans that hate to ride with the windows down. I know a person in particular. Meine Oma hasst air blowing in her face, and rolls the window up, especially on the freeway. But as soon as we hit a stoplight, she rolls the window down. As soon as the light turns red, she rolls the window up. As far as the illness thing goes, I will admit that there is nothing wrong with being too safe. If a person feels as though too much air will get them sick, by all means they should do whatever they have to do. Ich finde crazy dass Deutschen keine Medicine benutzen. Medicine is a part of what helps us fight diseases and things like that, so I really do not understand the mindset they have towards that. I like the fact that there are viele saunas in Deutschland. I honestly have never been to a sauna, aber ob ich Deutschland besucht, ich wurde Sauna gehen. The school system in Germany seem to be very efficient and helpful. Es ist sehr organized and obviously constructed to benefit die Kinder that are enrolled.

AMD 2

Für AMD 2, habe ich mit meiner Freundin gesprochen. Sie mag Deutsch und sie möchtet Deutschland besuchen. Ich habe sie für Abendessen eingeladen. She was sehr froh to meet with me. We had a long conversation  about everything German. Wir haben über Deutschen essen, Deutschten Autos, und Deutschen Architektur gesprochen. She was very interested in famous German celebrities that lived in the United States as well. I told her about NBA superstar Dirk Nowitzki, and how he won a national championship in 2011. The only other superstar that I know of is Martin Lawrence. She could not believe it, as most people don’t either. Arguably one of the funniest men on television, Martin Lawrence was born in Frankfurt, Germany in 1965.She was almost done after finding out that fact. The one last thing she wanted to know was how big is Germany. It was interesting to tell her that Germany is not that big of a country, and only about the size of the state of Montana. We had to depart ways shortly after. This was very fun to do because I was able to say what I knew about the country that I am so highly excited by.

Kultur 1

This Kultur 1 was sehr interesant. I had the most fun reading about the different foods available in Germany. It is good to know that many people in good ol' Deutschland try to cook different foods on there menu. The best looking thing that I saw was the cupcake. It looked so good I wanted to snatch it off my computer screen. It was also fun reading how much ordnung Germans have. It was slightly scary at some point. Me reading that packing elbow pads and knee pads was a necessary gesture is very off putting. The 365 Dinge was pretty cool as well. The top 4 interesting dinge to me were "Essen in Dunkeeln", "Big WIndow", "Nach Der Party", und "Relaxen in der grossten sauna

AMD1

For this AMD, I decided to do something simple. I simply just read Wikipedia articles on some of the things that I am interested in. I looked up NBA players, singers, and my most favorite thing of all, roller coasters. It was very cool how I was able to understand the context of the sentence, based off of the information I known prior to reading the article. After I was done reading the article, I looked at the English version then went back to the Deutsch. That is when everything was a lot clearer. It was nice to see the bio of my favorite artist in my second favorite language because it was like I had no idea who the person was, but I knew a copious amount of information about them. As far as the roller coasters go, it was just as great reading about them. I actually could figure out some of the words because the article would state statistics about the ride that I knew already so I was able to put 2 and 2 together and figure it out. This was a nice AMD for me to do.
